Voodoo Skull

Voodoo exists in Africa, the Caribbean, and parts of South America. But thanks to its contributions to the imaginations of the creators of movies, television, and fictional books, the Louisiana version is what we know best. A mash-up of West African tribal religions, Roman Catholicism, and Haitian Vodou, Louisiana Voodoo is now a major part of the New Orleans tourist trade. This life-size skull is the substrate for a variety of symbols, including ram's horns, snakes, stars, and what appear to be Nordic runes. Made of cold cast resin and stained to bring out the detail. Felt pad on the bottom.
