Norse Goddess Freya Statue

This is a beautiful sculpture of the Norse goddess Freya (or “Freyja” in old Norse). Freya was associated with love, beauty, fertility, and war (in other words, not somebody you want to forget on Valentine’s Day). Looking ravishing and intimidating all at the same time, she is replete with warrior accouterments and displays her necklace Brisingamen (”gleaming” or “sunny torc”). At her feet sits a cat; she rode a chariot pulled by two such felines. Made of cold-cast resin and has a beautiful metallic bronze finish that gives it the look of metal.
